Practice
Jasmax delivers transformational impact across the Asia-Pacific region through architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and urban design. Our work is defined by measurable outcomes, from carbon reduction and economic revitalisation to cultural expression and social connection, proving design’s capacity to address the challenges that matter most.
How We Work
We partner with government agencies, councils, property developers, and commercial and institutional organisations to create environments that generate lasting value for communities, cities, and regions. Trusted to deliver complex, future-focused projects, we bring specialist expertise and deep understanding of technological and regulatory environments to every challenge.
We deliver outstanding service through design leadership, a uniquely collaborative approach, and the technical and technological excellence that underpins high-quality architecture and design. A value-led mindset – focused on generating impact where it matters most – is fundamental to how we work. Our specialist teams are assembled to meet the specific needs of each project, with our project leaders remaining hands-on from inception to completion, providing continuity and trusted guidance to clients.

Environmental Leadership
We design buildings to operate within the carbon limits needed for a 1.5°C future, aligning with New Zealand and Australia’s 2050 climate commitments and the Paris Agreement. We have set ambitious 2030 targets for both embodied carbon and operational carbon. Early-stage lifecycle carbon assessments are conducted on architectural projects, with passive design, material efficiency, and full electrification prioritised from the outset. We are experts in adaptive reuse and retrofit strategies, enabling the sustainable transformation of existing buildings rather than replacement.
Beyond carbon reduction, we champion regenerative design – creating environments that restore ecological health, enhance biodiversity, and contribute positively to natural systems.

Our track record includes some of New Zealand’s top-performing certified green buildings. In 2021, the University of Auckland’s B201 building achieved the highest ever 6 Green Star score from the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC). Our projects have earned recognition across internationally verified sustainability tools, including 6 Green Star ratings in the Commercial and Education sectors, 5 Green Stars in the Health and Science sector, and certifications under Homestar, The Living Building Challenge, WELL, Fitwel and NABERSNZ.

Cultural Leadership
Culturally responsive design is fundamental to meaningful architecture and guides our work as we collaborate with communities to explore cultural narratives through placemaking.
Cultural engagement and co-design are integral to our practice, honouring and amplifying Indigenous voices throughout the design process. Our Indigenous Design Collective – comprising Māori practitioners (Waka Māia), Pasifika practitioners (Moana Practitioners), and First Nations practitioners – works closely with Māori and First Nations communities and clients to create designs spanning contemporary and traditional expressions, reflective of the communities they serve.
For more information, contact our Cultural Strategist, Anahera Rawiri, or Māori Design Leader, Elisapeta Heta. Anahera leads early-stage exploration of how Te Ao Māori principles can guide project direction, while Elisapeta leads cultural engagement throughout the design phase, ensuring respect and integrity are maintained throughout the process.
