Michelle Harris is a Principal and architect at Jasmax, where she leads the practice’s newly established Melbourne studio. With over 20 years’ experience in community, education and social housing projects, Michelle is a highly skilled project leader with a strong track record of managing large, complex projects that deliver lasting value for clients and communities.

Prior to joining Jasmax, Michelle was a Director at Canvas Projects. A leader in community co-design, placemaking, and cultural context, Canvas Projects became part of Jasmax in 2025. Michelle is currently working with Bayside City Council on the Yalukit William Nature Reserve Gateway and recently completed the new Community Hub for Chelsea Primary School. She also played a key role in enhancing the brief for the Truganina Community Centre for Wyndham City Council, integrating a library into the design — a priority identified by the local community to support cultural literacy and social cohesion.

Earlier in her career, Michelle worked at DesignInc, specialising in tertiary education projects. Her portfolio includes the refurbishment of the University of Melbourne’s School of Engineering, upgrades to the La Trobe University Chancellory and the expansion of Deakin University’s ManuFutures 2 hub.

Michelle’s extensive public sector experience includes working the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA), Housing NSW, NSW Department of Education, and Maribyrnong Council, among others.
