Meiling Honson is a Principal, senior architect and project leader with over 20 years’ experience in Australia, China and Aotearoa New Zealand. Meiling specialises in the design of education buildings and campuses. Her core skillset is managing large-scale project teams, leading projects from concept design through to completion. 

Meiling joined Jasmax in 2016 to lead the award-winning redevelopment of Western Springs College Ngā Puna o Waiōrea, the Ministry of Education’s single largest school redevelopment to date operated under a co-governance model and including a Te Reo Māori immersion kura. As Western Springs College demonstrates, Meiling enjoys working on culturally rich projects and is passionate about ensuring that design respects and serves the needs of diverse communities.

Prior to joining Jasmax, Meiling worked with HASSELL, RMJM and Perkins Eastman in Shanghai, where she also focused on large-scale education projects. Her portfolio also includes a mix of high-rise residential, civic, healthcare and retail projects and includes 6‑Star Greenstar developments and award-winning timber designs in New Zealand and Australia.

Meiling is registered in New South Wales and New Zealand.
