Jeff Gabriel is a Principal in Jasmax’s newly established Melbourne studio. With over 20 years in practice, he has played a key role in delivering celebrated public and community projects that reflect the unique stories and rich identity of Australia. He brings a strong focus on understanding the cultural, social and economic context of each project, taking care that all stakeholders, from clients, to community members and the broader design team are listened to and empowered to fulfil a project’s potential. In Jasmax’s Melbourne studio, Jeff leads the design process and facilitates co-design. He is also committed to advocating for underrepresented communities and promoting social and environmental sustainability to achieve lasting outcomes for people and the built environment.

Before joining Jasmax, Jeff was a Director at Canvas Projects, which he co-founded alongside Nick Gamble in 2017. A leader in community co-design, placemaking, and cultural context, Canvas Projects became part of Jasmax in 2025. During his tenure, Jeff led the design of significant projects, including the Truganina Community Centre, Mainview Boulevard Family Learning Centre, and Dianella Community Centre for Wyndham City Council. His portfolio also includes the Olivine Active Open Space for Mirvac, and Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve Gateway for Bayside City Council.
