David Ruane

With over 20 years of architectural experience working across Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and Ireland, David Ruane has developed a deep understanding of international design standards. As a Senior Architect at Jasmax, he predominantly works in the education sector, but has also been involved in residential and infrastructure projects.

Prior to joining the practice in 2019, David worked on high-profile, mixed-use developments as well as secondary and tertiary education projects in Australia, leading them from conception through to completion. David was responsible for the delivery of Prahran High School in Melbourne – one of the first vertical schools to be constructed in Australia. He applied his knowledge and experience gained in the delivery of complex projects to lead the investigation, design and delivery of this new building typology.

David’s expert communication skills combined with strong analytical abilities, have allowed him to efficiently resolve design challenges and facilitate smooth project delivery. His amicable nature combined with exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills enables him to run complex projects with diverse teams. David’s passion is to create an equitable built environment that promotes more social and liveable communities.
