Andrew Grant is a Project Director with over 35 years’ architectural experience. Since joining Jasmax in 2008, Andrew has specialised in education projects, delivering innovative secondary schools and individual learning blocks that have shaped the development and evolution of learning environments in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Andrew enjoys the challenge of melding the diverse factors that bring about new schools; the pedagogical, physical, social, technical and economic considerations that all require careful attention. Passionate about sustainable design, Andrew led the way in achieving the first 5 Green Star rating for school design from the NZGBC for Ormiston Senior College.

Most recently, Andrew was involved in The Pā project for the University of Waikato, which brings together a wharenui, the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, a student hub, and Te Pua Wānanga ki te Ao — Faculty of Māori and Indigenous Studies under one unifying roof structure. The Pā supports the University’s aim to provide an authentic and immersive cultural learning experience for all students and has become the most ambitious project in its history.
