Many things to many people
Flexibility was crucial in creating welcoming spaces for all, while safely accommodating a variety of activities – from patrol, to training and first aid, alongside events and community activities. Hard wearing indoor spaces are complemented by landscaped outdoor spaces including a large courtyard sheltered from prevailing winds. At the lower level, storage space for rescue gear and wash down decks, bunk style accommodation, and a first aid area are arranged in a thoughtful layout that ensures easy access to lifesaving equipment, minimising any potential overlap or obstruction from community activities. Plywood internal finishes ensure ease of maintenance for the club committee and volunteers who worked very hard to bring this high quality and hugely successful building to fruition.
