Julian O’Neale
Julian O’Neale is an Associate Principal with a wealth of experience working on highly complex public and commercial projects, both in Aotearoa New Zealand and abroad.
Julian first joined Jasmax in 2008, working on various public and commercial projects in both Auckland and Christchurch, including the redevelopment of Shed 10. After eight years, Julian ventured overseas to gain further experience within large, multi-disciplinary studios. Whilst working in the Netherlands, Julian was a Senior Project Architect responsible for design development and stakeholder liaison of the new Schiphol Airport terminal in Amsterdam. Julian was also the Project Architect and Design Manager for the UAE Pavilion Experience Design at Expo 2020.
Since returning to Jasmax in 2021, Julian has been working on numerous commercial projects and workplace developments, including 61 Molesworth Street, a highly resilient new development between the parliamentary and commercial precincts in Wellington’s city centre.
Julian believes the collaborative design process is key to shaping buildings that positively contribute to our cities and the people who inhabit them. Ambitious yet pragmatic, the buildings we design together need to improve the surrounding built environment whilst being commercially successful for clients.
