Designed by Jasmax in association with Hunter Hindmarsh, Foundry 61 is a boutique development of 19 two storey townhouses in Auckland’s Freemans Bay which offers a welcome alternative to the increasing number of high-rise apartments being built in and around the city’s CBD

Within walking distance of Ponsonby Rd, the city, Karangahape Rd and Victoria Park the development is arranged around a sheltered shared space and access lane. The development offers two type of dwellings aimed at providing flexible and comfortable living in the centre of Auckland city.

The ‘Loft’ dwellings all have stunning views of the city skyline to the east with sunny elevated terraces accessed from the lane to the west. The ‘Bolt’ apartments nestle into the treetops on the boundary with Freeman’s Bay school.

The materials and forms of the buildings have been informed by the gritty industrial past of the area. Saw tooth roofs and lofty ceiling spaces combine with exposed concrete, timber and steel both inside and out to create a strong identity for this character-filled part of the city.
