Scheduled for completion in early 2016, the architectural and interior works at 5 Whitaker Place will provide a colourful addition to student accommodation offering in Auckland's CBD.
This site, which formally housed a commercial office building, has been transformed into sixteen storeys of high-quality, purpose-built student accommodation in close proximity to the University of Auckland and AUT. The architectural team's design has maximised the floorplate on each level enabling the building to accommodate 300 self-contained undergraduate rooms and associated common amenity and facilities.
The project has struck a carefully considered balance between a quality design outcome for the students and the city, while delivering an efficient building with maximised returns for the client.
This addition to Auckland’s CBD will enhance the student precinct around Symond Street, and provide a new level of offering for student living within the city.
