David has had over 20 years’ experience working in New Zealand and the UK. As a project architect for various large and small scale projects, he has gained a broad range of experience in the commercial, civic and healthcare sectors.
Prior to joining Jasmax, David was a part of the team that delivered 2013’s World Building of the Year, the Auckland Art Gallery; a highly significant and esteemed award.
David has specialised skills in the planning, development and delivery of projects and understands the importance of well organised and co-ordinated project teams. His roles have included working with client groups, establishing briefs, coordination of JV partner’s information, and through all stages of design.
David believes that considered analysis of the client’s values and needs, together with early design clarity are essential for a successful project. He has enthusiasm for the creative potential of each project within its wider context and the insight it will give to the character and form of the building. David is also interested in using materials, components and careful detailing to express the craft of building.
David’s most recent project was Quad5, Auckland Airport’s award-winning commercial office. The form of the building was derived from a combination of workplace strategy, services reticulation and environmentally sustainable design initiatives. This was a highly successful approach to office design and one that David is keen to develop on future projects.
