Jasmax Architectural Graduate Patrick Loo received top industry accolade, winning Emerging Design Professional at this year’s Interiors Awards.
The Emerging Design Professional award recognises talented and up-and-coming design professionals aged 30 years and below. Assessed for their work-to-date in the commercial design sector, significant professional achievements and design motivations, the candidates and their design thinking traversed a two-phase judging process that whittled down a shortlist for the top spot.
Patrick’s keen eye for the details as well as the complex nature of projects he has contributed to caught the attention of the judges. He has varied industry experience, working on Jasmax project teams for major developments with clients Comvita and AUT, and has continued to contribute to education through tutoring at the University of Auckland.
Patrick co-founded experimental design collective On.No.Sumo, working to push the boundaries of design by proactively encouraging public participation through projects such as Stairway Cinema, Cupcake Pavilion and Urbis’ Paper Sky installation, consistently demonstrating Patrick’s contribution within the industry as a passion, not only as a career.
